I’m a romantic. I look for romance in everything, everywhere, all the time. If there is even a hint of a romantic relationship, I will find it, and I will ship it harder than a ship has ever been shipped before.
Pre-writing life, I used to watch a lot of TV. My tastes ran the gamut from comedy to family drama to action. But they all had something in common: a couple I could root for. Without further ado, I give you my top three TV couples.
3. Luke and Lorelei
Gilmore Girls was a staple in my house. I watched it religiously every week, never switched off a rerun, and I own every single season. It’s my go-to happy show. I love the dynamic between Lorelei and Rory. But the thing that kept me on the edge of my seat through all seven seasons was the whole will-they-won’t-they between Luke and Lorelei. I loved them together. Of course, it helps that it was one of my favorite tropes: friends to lovers. And when we did get their HEA, it was so, so worth the wait.
2. Ross and Rachel
Who doesn’t like Friends? And if you say you, I’m afraid we can’t be friends any more. I love this show with a deep and loyal passion. I can watch any episode and, no matter how many times I’ve seen it, I’m guaranteed actual, laugh out loud guffaws half a dozen times, if not more. I was so invested in Ross and Rachel from Season 1, and that only grew as the viewers saw them come oh so close and then watched as everything got snatched away. I watched, heartbroken, as they sowed their oats, going through the others, but in the end, I knew they’d end up together. He’s her lobster.
1. Buffy and Angel
If you’re in the Buffy and Spike camp, you can mosey right out of this post. And we’re not going to be able to speak for a while until I’m not so butthurt by your choices.
